In making its supremely soft and
comfortable apparel and accessories,
Natural High Lifestyle uses distinctive
natural resources including bamboo,
hemp, Tencel , organic cotton and
vegetal leather.
BAMBOO: Bamboo fiber is softer than the
softest cotton and is naturally
antimicrobial. The world’s fastest
growing plant, bamboo reaches maturity
in about four years. Also nature’s most
sustainable resource, it is 100%
biodegradable and grown without
pesticides or chemicals. HEMP: The hemp
plant grows without pesticides in a wide
range of climates, producing the long,
strong fibers that, in addition to use
in Natural High Lifestyle products, are
also valued for their use as paper pulp,
biomass fuel and construction materials.
TENCEL: Made from the natural cellulose
found in wood pulp, Tencel is economical
in its use of energy and natural
resources and is fully biodegradable.
Similar to linen in feel, it is soft,
breathable, lightweight and comfortable.
Tencel products contain no free chlorine
and are sold as "TCF – products.” The
European Union awarded this process the
Environmental Award 2000 in the category
“technology for sustainable
developments.”
ORGANICALLY GROWN COTTON: Conventional
cotton farming is one of agriculture’s
most environmentally destructive
activities, but fortunately, positive
alternatives for cotton apparel have
emerged, and with them, a growing market
for organically grown cotton. Organic
farming incorporates biologically based
rather than chemically dependent growing
systems to raise cotton crops.
VEGETAL LEATHER: Derived from natural
rubber trees in Brazil, the sustainable
vegetal leather used in Natural High
Lifestyle bags is harvested using a
method similar to that of extracting
maple syrup and offers the indigenous
people an economic alternative to
cutting down the trees.
